Splinter

Symptoms:

  • Pain at the site of the splinter.

  • Visible presence of a foreign object (splinter) under the skin.

  • Redness and swelling around the splinter.

First Aid Treatment:

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water to reduce the risk of infection.

  2. Clean the area around the splinter with mild soap and water.

  3. Use sterilized tweezers to gently grasp the splinter as close to the skin's surface as possible.

  4. Pull the splinter out in the same direction it entered. If the splinter is deeply embedded or difficult to remove, consider seeking medical help.

  5. Clean the wound with an antiseptic to prevent infection.

  6. Apply antibiotic ointment and cover the wound with a sterile bandage.

  7. Seek Medical Attention if there’s sign of any infection like redness or swelling
