Bruises
Symptoms:
Discoloration of the skin (usually purplish or blackish)
Swelling
Pain or tenderness at the affected area
First Aid Treatment:
Apply a cold compress or ice pack wrapped in a thin cloth to the bruised area for 15-20 minutes. This helps reduce swelling and numb pain.
If possible, elevate the affected limb to minimize swelling.
Consider using a compression bandage to reduce swelling, but ensure it's not too tight.
If needed, take over-the-counter pain relievers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen as directed for pain management.
Allow the affected area to rest and avoid putting unnecessary strain on it.
